Peer to peer tutoring began in 2005, with the understanding that the best person to tutor a struggling student is another student.

Want to be a Tutor?
A person may become a tutor in any units in which they have recently been awarded a HD or D grade. The benefit of tutoring by a recent graduate or current student is that they understand the unit concepts and are familiar with the direction sought by the co-coordinators of the unit.
Once a Tutor has completed 40 hours of tutoring, it may be acknowledged on their Developmental Transcript upon graduating. In order to receive this acknowledgement, tutors must notify the Guild tutoring co-ordinator (Jen) at the beginning of the semester & keep a record of their hours on the provided timesheet. Alternatively, tutors can charge the student a maximum of $20 per hour.
Once contact has been made, the student and tutor are responsible for all aspects of tuition including the venue, scheduling, payment or record-keeping and the work covered. The Guild recommends that tuition occurs on campus, in the Library or at a Cafe.
Upon completing your tuition, please provide the Guild Tutor Co-ordinator (Jen) with some feedback about your experience for future reference.
